Undefeated Dallas Cowboys look so good, but Mike McCarthy’s offense should do more

The Dallas Cowboys are having a great season so far, winning all their games. But they can do even better on offense, which is led by their coach, Mike McCarthy.

In their recent game against the New York Jets, things were a bit one-sided. The Jets lost their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, to an injury early in the game. This made the game less exciting for fans. The Cowboys were up against the Jets' rookie quarterback, Zach Wilson, who couldn't play his best. On the Cowboys' side, they had Trey Lance, who was picked third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Cowboys won both of their first two games of the season against New York teams, the Giants, and the Jets. They beat the Jets 30-10, but it wasn't a close or thrilling game. If Aaron Rodgers hadn't been injured, the Jets might have put up a better fight. But Cowboys fans are more concerned about how their offense would look if Kellen Moore were still the offensive coordinator.

During the offseason, the Cowboys made many changes, including Mike McCarthy taking over as the main play caller instead of Kellen Moore. This was needed to bring some fresh ideas. Moore had been with the Cowboys since 2018, and his offensive strategies were getting old. Both sides decided it was time for a change. Under McCarthy's play-calling, the Cowboys' offense reminds people of when he was the head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018. During that time, he had quarterbacks like Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. They had versatile running backs, a fullback, and used running backs in the passing game. Their offensive linemen could play different positions if needed, and they had a star wide receiver. The key was getting the ball out of the quarterback's hands quickly.

It's still early in the season, so we can't say for sure if McCarthy's play calling will make a big difference. The Cowboys' offensive line has had injuries, and their performance in both games against New York teams has been up and down. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. After the recent win, Cowboys guard Zack Martin said they missed some chances to score more touchdowns in both games. In Week 1, they won 40-0, but it was a rainy game. In Week 2, they dominated the Jets, who struggled without a strong quarterback. The Cowboys could have scored even more if they executed better.

For instance, in the third quarter, they had a good chance to score, but instead of a simple run, they tried a fancy play that didn't work well. This stalled their drive, and they had to settle for a field goal. When they got close to scoring, they had trouble converting their chances. On the positive side, their new kicker, Brandon Aubrey, did well with four field goals in the second half. But there's more potential in the offense, and they need to do better.

On the other hand, in Los Angeles, Kellen Moore's old team, the Chargers, scored a lot of points in their first two games. However, they still lost both games even though they have one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL, Justin Herbert. So, while Cowboys fans were hopeful that McCarthy taking over as play caller would fix their offensive problems, there's still work to be done. The team is working on building better connections and a new approach to their offense, but there's room for improvement. Please Share This Article Thankyou...
