Matty Healy Is Definitely *Not* On Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Re-Record

A spokesperson for the singer said that the controversial singer and his band, the 1975, will not be part of Taylor Swift's upcoming 'Taylor's Version' album.

Despite rumors and tabloid headlines, one of the reported guests on Taylor Swift's re-recorded version of her 1989 album will not be there. The spokesperson for Taylor Swift confirmed that neither Matty Healy nor his band, the 1975, will be featured on this album. This statement puts to rest the rumors that the British band's controversial frontman would appear on the reworked version of Swift's 2014 album.

Earlier this year, there were reports that Taylor Swift and Matty Healy briefly dated, but neither of them officially confirmed it. They were seen leaving New York's Electric Lady Studios in May after Healy attended three of Swift's Nashville Eras Tour shows earlier in the month. As of now, a spokesperson for The 1975/Healy has not responded to requests for comments.

Taylor Swift announced the re-release of her 1989 album last month. She told her fans that this album, featuring popular songs like "Bad Blood," "Shake It Off," and "Blank Space," had a significant impact on her life. Swift also mentioned that this is her favorite re-recorded album so far because of the five additional tracks from the vault that she can't wait to share.

This will be Swift's fourth re-recorded album as part of her project to regain control of her music. Her previous three re-recorded albums, "Fearless (Taylor's Version)," "Red (Taylor's Version)," and "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," all reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Two tracks from the re-release of 1989 have already been released, including "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)," which gained popularity on TikTok in November 2021, and "This Love (Taylor's Version)," which appeared in the trailer for the Amazon Prime series "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Taylor Swift also announced an exclusive bonus track that will be featured on the tangerine edition of the 1989 vinyl. This vinyl and three Deluxe Poster Edition CDs with unique photos inside will be available for purchase exclusively at Target. The re-release will also come in other non-Target exclusive vinyl versions, including aquamarine green and yellow "Sunrise Boulevard. Please Share This Article
