Donald Trump's criminal charges spark concerns among 2024 voters, new poll shows

In a recent poll by NBC News, it seems that former President Donald Trump's legal troubles might affect his chances in a general election against President Joe Biden.

Despite facing four criminal charges for things like faking business records, mishandling secret documents, and trying to change the 2020 election results, Trump's popularity among Republican voters remains strong during the GOP primary.

However, things could get tricky for Trump if he reaches the general election. The poll found that 62% of voters have big or some worries about his legal problems, while 37% don't have many concerns.

In the 2024 GOP primary race, Trump is still the top choice, with 59% of Republican primary voters supporting him, according to the NBC News poll. As time has gone on and Trump's legal issues have piled up, his support has actually gone up. In fact, 58% of GOP primary voters think Trump should be the leader of the Republican Party. This is an increase from an earlier poll in June, where only 49% of GOP voters thought he should lead the party.

Other Republicans in the race, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, lag far behind Trump, with only 16% support from voters.

However, the poll also shows that President Biden has his own issues with voters. Many are worried about his age and if he's mentally fit for a second term. In fact, 74% of voters have significant or some concerns about Biden's mental and physical health, while only 26% have fewer concerns.

Biden's approval rating in this poll is not great either. It's at 41%, while his disapproval rating is 56%, the highest during his time as president.

All of this has resulted in a close presidential race. If there were a general election between Biden and Trump right now, both would have 46% support from voters. However, it's important to remember that the poll could be off by about 3.1 percentage points either way due to its margin of error. Please Share This Article Thankyou..
