After Gaetz made his move, McCarthy responded on a platform called X, saying, "Bring it on."

Before a deadline on Saturday, McCarthy and other Republicans suggested a plan to fund the government until November 17. This temporary plan got support from both Democrats and Republicans in the House.

Gaetz said on Sunday that he would definitely try to remove McCarthy from his position and said they need new leaders they can trust.

Gaetz needs 218 votes to successfully remove McCarthy from his role as Speaker of the House.

McCarthy defended his actions, saying he's willing to risk his job to stand up for the American people.

Gaetz could make this move because McCarthy made a deal earlier in the year. He agreed that any member of either party could try to remove him from his position as Speaker of the House. Please Share This News Thank You
