Michigan State football QB Noah Kim's impressive turnaround in ... 1 hour ago

"In this inspiring football game, quarterback Noah Kim overcomes a shaky start, leading Michigan State to a 31-7 victory. Follow Kim's journey as he goes from early nerves to a stunning comeback, showcasing his talent on the field."

One moment, I was thinking: Are they going to replace Noah Kim as the quarterback for Michigan State football? Maybe they'll try someone else in the second half?

But then, he calmed down, got rid of the jitters, and started throwing long passes, turning a close game into a big win. He led MSU to a 31-7 victory over Central Michigan on Friday night.

So, Noah Kim deserves a lot of credit. He bounced back from a rough start that began even before the game.

About half an hour before the game started, as the MSU student section was filling up with white-shirted fans, Kim grabbed a football and started warming up in Spartan Stadium.

While throwing long passes along the sideline, Kim missed two in a row, throwing them too high. This is a sign that a quarterback is too excited or nervous.

Just a few minutes earlier, MSU coach Mel Tucker had said on a pregame radio show that Kim would be the starting quarterback. Tucker said, "Noah has done a good job. This is his fourth year in the offense. He knows the offense."

It made sense. Kim, a fourth-year junior, had been consistent in 2022, completing 14 out of 19 passes for 174 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in his 38 plays.

But knowing the offense and executing it are two different things.

Kim and the other MSU quarterbacks moved to a different part of the field, and Kim still threw too high. When they did a seven-on-seven drill, Kim threw an interception. This happened during warmups and without any pressure from the opposing team.

The start of the game was messy and ugly for MSU, and CMU took a 7-3 lead with less than 2 minutes left in the second quarter.

But then, we saw something inspiring. We saw an athlete face adversity and come back from it.

Just when I started to wonder if we'd see a different MSU quarterback, Kim came to life in the last two minutes of the first half.

It all began with his passes to Jaron Glover.

Kim connected with Glover for 33 yards, then 32, and finally 10 yards - all on one drive - as the Spartans marched down the field for a touchdown.

It was like Kim stopped overthinking and started playing.

Suddenly, MSU was in the lead with a score of 10-7.

In the third quarter, Kim settled down even more. He completed four of his first five passes, and MSU extended their lead to 17-7.

It was as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders, and he turned it into a show. This became his moment to shine.

He threw an incredible pass to Christian Fitzpatrick, who sprinted down the field for a 72-yard gain.

Then, there was a fantastic 10-yard touchdown pass to Tyrell Henry and an 8-yard touchdown to Maliq Carr. Please Share This Article
