Jill Biden tests positive for Covid-19 but president’s test is negative

Jill Biden, the first lady, has tested positive for Covid-19 again. This is the second time she has gotten the virus. The White House told us this news on Monday night.

Right now, she doesn't feel too sick. She has mild symptoms. She's staying at her home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. That's where she and her husband, Joe Biden, live.

Jill Biden got Covid-19 before in August 2022. Her husband, Joe Biden, also got it the month before.

Covid-19 cases have gone up a bit this late summer in the United States. Some new forms of the virus, EG.5 and BA.2.86, are spreading. Scientists are interested in BA.2.86 because it has many changes. But experts say we're not in as much danger as we were in 2020 and 2021.

Mandy Cohen, who leads the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said we are more ready now. She told NBC News that we're prepared.
