Alabama football: Texas vs. Alabama score, takeaways 'Horns impress by silencing Tide, ending Bama's 21-game home win streak

Alabama's 21-game winning streak at home, the longest in the country, ended on Saturday night. Texas, ranked 11th, surprised everyone by beating the third-ranked Crimson Tide 34-24. This game was a big deal because these teams will be in the same conference soon.

Alabama hadn't lost a nonconference game at home for 43 games, and their coach Nick Saban had only lost three games to his former assistant coaches before this. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian used to work for Alabama, so this win was extra special for him.

Last year, Texas almost beat Alabama but lost at the last minute. This time, Texas had the better quarterback, Quinn Ewers, who threw three touchdown passes and no interceptions. Alabama's Jalen Milroe didn't do as well and threw two interceptions that helped Texas win.

This win for Texas was their first away win against a top-three team in a very long time. And for Saban, it was his first nonconference loss in a regular season since 2007 when he first started coaching Alabama.

Last year, when Ewers got hurt early in the game against Alabama, people wondered if Texas could have won if he had played the whole game. Well, this game showed that with a healthy Ewers, Texas is better than Alabama. He threw for 349 yards and made Texas' passing game look amazing. They had many long plays, and one player, Adonai Mitchell, caught two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.

Only a few other quarterbacks have thrown for over 300 yards and three touchdowns without an interception when playing against Alabama, and Ewers joined that list.

People are now talking about whether Milroe is the right quarterback for Alabama. He didn't look comfortable and threw those two interceptions. He had some good throws, but Texas didn't let him run much, and he got sacked five times.

Texas' tight end, Ja'Tavion Sanders, didn't do much in last year's game against Alabama, but he had a great game this time with 114 yards on five catches. He's getting noticed as a possible NFL draft pick.

With Alabama, Texas A&M, and LSU losing nonconference games, the SEC West, which used to be known as the toughest division in college football, is having a tough start this season. The SEC usually sends teams to the College Football Playoff, but with these early losses, they have less room for mistakes. Ole Miss, another SEC West team, has some tough games ahead too.

So, it's a surprising start to the season for these top teams, and the SEC West's reputation as the toughest division is fading away as conference realignment approaches. Please Share This Article Thankyou..
